We can’t help it…we brag about our bulkheads. We’re kind of like a proud parent in that respect. This original-style, serviceable disconnect is one of the many things that makes our Classic Update kits shine.

If you’ve installed one of our harnesses, you’re already aware the engine and front light firewall connections are pre-assembled for an easy engine bay installation. These two harnesses use male terminals to plug into what ultimately becomes the fuse panel in our kit.

Now that we’ve seen both parts, it’s time for a word of caution when it comes to plugging them in. Every so often, our tech line receives a call from a customer with a front end gremlin. A frequent source of trouble is a male bulkhead terminal that has folded over while being plugged into the dash.

It’s always a good idea to make sure your engine and front light bulkhead terminals are straight prior to installation. That, slow, even pressure, and a little dielectric grease can keep your underhood wiring in check when it’s time to hook up the battery and turn the key!
