This thing has a lot going for it.

A quick search for the GM large cap distributor will turn up more information than we could ever reasonably fit in our blog, but we’re taking the time to mention it for two very specific reasons.

Since the large cap is such a popular way to rid your engine compartment of points, we include the tach and power feed connectors with the vast majority of Classic Update and universal kits. Most of our Factory Fit engine harnesses can also be converted or built to plug right in.

We have both the ignition and tachometer connectors available individually, but if you’re adding an HEI distributor to what was formerly a points car, it’s important to make sure you’ve removed the original resistor wire or ballast resistor. Failure to do so will rob performance from your upgraded ignition system.
